Vidya Balan in Hindi remake of Subramaniapuram

The critically acclaimed Subramaniapuram has found another fan in the form of well renowned director Anurag Kashyap .The director had earlier disclosed his inspiration to remake a Hindi version of Subramaniapuram which was originally directed G. Sasikumar.

Even though the director is planning to keep Swati Reddy or Colours Swati as many know her for the lead, he is having second thoughts on roping in Vidya Balan for the role , as Swati is not a popular face in Bollywood.

The movie is scheduled to set cameras rolling from next year .With Anurag’s huge fan following and a very interesting script at hand the movie will surely create waves.

Rajani’s Thalapathi remaking in Bollywood

Recently Rajni’s heroically epic-a-cious flick Baasha released in a fresh new digitalized version on November 4th at 4 major theaters including the Anna Theater at Mount Road.Baasha was another classic Rajini hit with the movie raking in 50 crores, being made at a Rs.10 crore budget.

Now another oldie, (with memories still held fresh in the minds of Rajiniacs) from Rajini camp will hit the silver screens in the form of a Hindi remake, so to say. The exclusive rights to the Rajini-Mani Ratnam hit flick Thalapathi have been bought by Bollywood producer Bharat Shah. The movie had performances from Mollywood star Mamooty, the ever-stunning Shobana who played a local village girl and a wonderful soundtrack by Ilaiyaraaja to add the wonder touch.  Infact the track “Rakkama Kaiya Thattu” with Rajini in top form made it to the BBC World Top Ten music poll. It can also be noted that Roja cinematographer Santosh Sivan, made his debut in Tamil movies with Thalapathi. That’s quite a milestone movie by all standards.
